Naughty N'awlins Part 1: Drinking, Dancing and DJing | Episode 254

Dan and Lacy are back from Naughty N’awlins—and they have plenty of stories to tell! In Part 1 of their New Orleans recap, they take listeners along for the beginning of their wild weekend filled with old friends, unforgettable parties, plenty of drinks, and a little bit of trouble.

The trip kicks off with a visit to Colette’s New Orleans, where Dan and Lacy reconnect with friends they have missed and settle into the Naughty N’awlins energy. From there, they dive into the event’s daytime festivities, sharing what it was like to spend their afternoons drinking, dancing, socializing, and soaking up the party atmosphere.

Dan also steps behind the DJ booth for one of the nighttime parties and helps host one of the biggest events of the entire weekend—Kasidie’s legendary Foam Party at The Beach. Between the music, foam, drinks, and packed dance floor, the party definitely lives up to the hype.

Of course, it would not be a Naughty N’awlins recap without sharing a little of the naughty. Dan and Lacy open up about an encounter involving two other couples and how the experience unfolded.

Fresh off the trail. We just got back from naughty New Orleans, and we're sitting down in the studio to tell you all about it while it's fresh in our memories. And also because we have no other podcast recorded. And uh we gotta get it out there.

We do. I I don't, you know, I don't listen to a lot of other swinger podcasts, um, but I do think we are one of the ones that keep like pretty current and fresh. Like we're not telling you stories from a year ago or two years ago or even six months ago.

I would forget. Also, like they're prioritizing their themselves. And we are stubborn and somehow just keep putting ourselves through this.

Yeah, but I do think people like, I mean, I think people like, you know, they go to Naughty, they come back from Naughty, and then kind of get to hear about it. Yeah, I think it's good. Or maybe you missed Naughty, but you saw all the TikToks and Instagrams and the pictures, and then we put the episode out, and they're like, oh, let me hear about what happened at Naughty this year. Yeah. So I think it's good. Yeah, agreed. But yes, it does equal late nights editing and to try to get everything. Whoa, I have no idea what that even was.

It's also 83 degrees in our office, which is lovely. I promise we're not, we're not, I feel like we're complaining.

Yeah, what are you complaining about? All right, so let's get into it. I don't know if we're gonna make this all in one episode. If we have to get split up into two, I guess we will see because Naughty is kind of a long, crazy week and there's a lot to talk about. Um, but let's get into it. Let's not delay.

Okay, so um Naughty actually is a Wednesday through Sunday event. Uh, we usually go down the day before because you know, we like to have our booth and everything set up around lunchtime, the day it starts. So that we're not morning people. So that would have been really hard for us to get up and be there by the time.

Well, and it's a six, almost seven-hour drive. Yeah.

Yeah. So we actually left Tuesday around 11. Tara, who actually is the one that edits this podcast, hey Tara, if when she's listening to this, um, she actually was going to Naughty as a single female and had to ask if she could ride with us. So she drove to our house and we all got in your truck, and then we left our house about 11 and drove down.

Yes. It's a little, little uh road trip.

Yeah, it was fun. So we left around 11 and we got to New Orleans about 5:30 or 6. And um, so you have to get your pass and to get to be a part of Naughty. You've seen the lanyards that we wear, which is not a like it wasn't necessarily that we had to have it right away, but the problem was we wanted to go to collect's at night, and the desk was only open till like seven. And Tara was staying like a half a mile down the road. So we had to like you had to sit in this like long line to get into our hotel in the truck, waiting to kind of get up to the front. While me and Tara jumped out, she went and got her pass. We got back in the truck, then we took her to her Airbnb. I helped her get everything unloaded, get to her room, then I came back, and then me and you went, got our passes.

No, we got our passes before we took her to the because we had to because it was getting ready to go. Oh yeah, yeah.

So she sat in the truck while with us while so yeah. So anyway, long story short, it took us a while to get like actually to our room.

Yeah, so if you have never been to Naughty in New Orleans, the check-in process is difficult and it's not Naughty's fault. They are very well organized. I don't you can't organize it any better than I think they have. Uh, but the problem is it's there's 3,000 people trying to check into an event slash hotel.

And I think they said 40% came on Tuesday.

And that is the nice part that half showed up early, and that helps split it up a little bit. Um, because I think Wednesday it was even more crazy in the lobby than it was on Tuesday.

Uh, but so if anyway, if you're going to Naughty, it is a good idea if you if you can, if your schedule allows it to go down a day early for check-in. Uh, if you do get there on the normal Wednesday check-in day, just be prepared that it it might take you a couple hours to get through, you know, because you've got you're in downtown New Orleans, so to just getting pulled up to the hotel is a process. Yeah. Then unloading your stuff, uh, you know, getting the bell hops to get, you know, help you get your whole ass process. It's a whole thing. Yeah.

Yeah. So honestly, it probably took us two hours by the time we like between taking her, us waiting in the line to check in, um, which not the end of the world. We got to meet a lot of fun like followers. As we were standing in line, a lot of people got to come up to us. We got to say hello. It was it was great. So, but it was quite the process. And we had decided that we were gonna go to Colette. Tara had never been, it's kind of like the pre-party to Naughty.

Yeah, I think uh Tuesday night is like the official Colette, Naughty New Orleans pre-party.

SPEAKER_01 5:59

And some people go to Colette like throughout the week. We don't typically we like being at the actual event, you know, Naughty. Um, so this is like our one opportunity basically to go. So we knew we wanted to do that. So by the time we got checked in, got in our room, kind of we unpacked a little because we wanted to be sort of organized and ready for a crazy week. We unpacked, I ordered us some dinner. By the time we did all of that, it was basically like time to get ready for Colette. I think we went at like nine or ten. That was pretty much like our time period each night. So um, there was no theme for Colette, it's just kind of come as you are. You which they have Colette typically is a pretty strict dress code. They kind of laxed it a little bit this week for Naughty. I'd seen several people saying, like in the app and stuff, that Colette had that is a good pro tip.

So if you are thinking about going to Naughty New Orleans and you do want to go either to Colette on the pre-party night, which is Tuesday, or they kind of host a post-party night on Sunday, and then you can even go to the club during the week. It is important to remember bring bring pants and a button, like bring a collette outfit.

But they they were letting people in. They were, yeah.

Yes, because it's always an issue and it's always a problem.

But in the past, we've got to be. In the past, we've had to go find some jeans for Dan because it's July and he didn't bring jeans. Um, so anyway, we got dressed, made a few TikToks, of course. We walked and picked up Tara because she was actually on the way. She's about halfway.

So yeah, it's it's uh maybe a mile to the club. I don't even think it's that far. I think it's like a half mile or three-quarters of a mile. So it's a pretty easy walk uh over to the club.

Not in heels. Like I brought my flip-flops and walked in my flip-flops and then.

But it just so happened to be that Tara's half our hotel was like halfway to the club. So we just walked over to her hotel, picked her up, and then walked over to the Colette's was like a complete vibe.

I mean, it was, I think we were at fire capacity though. It was very, very busy. But it's like coming home. Does that make sense? Like, we don't know that we're gonna know anybody, but then we somehow find everybody. Does that I mean, like, is that a good explanation of it? We never we never know who's gonna be there. We don't really communicate with anybody before. Then we just show up and then we just see all these people that we see, you know, because it's like obviously there's people that that are new that come in and out every year, but there is a like a group that is always there.

Yeah, I mean, it's you know, one of the things I always say about the lifestyle is the you know, the reasons I like it is because of the community. And uh I think this is evident in Naughty New Orleans, you know, even us, we've kind of built our own community. You know, we've been doing takeovers for you know five plus years now, and we've been all over the country, and it's it's interesting that every time we go to a big event like this, uh, whether it's a Naughty New Orleans or a Bliss cruise, you always meet people that you've met from somewhere else, and they kind of all come together for these big convention type events. And it's even nice for me to see, you know, we're like, oh yeah, we met this couple in Salt Lake, and oh, this couple's from uh Louisville, and then, you know, oh, here are our friends from North Carolina, and then that friend group all kind of then melds together and makes like a bigger friend group, you know, like yeah, all you know, we have friends that we met in North Carolina that are best friends with people that are from the other side of the country, and they all kind of met through this community, which is I think is pretty cool.

Yeah, it's very cool. It was a good night. We took Tara on a tour because Colette has upstairs, downstairs. So you would honestly not even really know it was a swingers club unless you went and found it. Um, but really our night consisted of dancing, yeah, like in and meet and mingling, yeah. Meet and mingling. Yeah, I mean, it was a really good time. Um, very hot. Like I said, a lot of people, but an awesome good time. A lot of people were fucking like it was like 10:30, and people are already like upstairs fucking, which hats off to you. Way to get it in. We usually don't do a whole lot of fucking on that first night. We just sort of like are getting our feet wet, so to speak.

We don't for a few reasons. One, good luck finding a bed at Colette at any time during those nights. Uh, and then two, yeah, I think we it's a travel day and you come in and we're just kind of it's more of like a meet and greet. Yeah, it's like a mingle, yeah.

Yeah, it was fun. I mean, we had a good time. We stayed till a little after midnight or so, maybe 1230. And then we walked Tara to her room and then came back to ours. I'm pretty sure me and you fucked.

We did. I'm pretty sure we had anal sex when I came in your ass. But uh yeah. So if y'all are wondering how the anal uh yeah, she just got her pellets put back in a what a couple weeks ago? Yeah. And so now you're I think you're nearing back to that peak. Yeah. And so you're back to wanting to be a dirty slut again.

So yeah, so I mean, first night, awesome. Got to see lots of people, a lot of fun, happy to be there, ready for a crazy week, basically.

Exactly. All right, so let's get into day two.

Okay, so on Wednesday, the first thing we really had was like three o'clock. So we had some time. So first thing we did, well, we slept in, obviously. And then we got up and we went and set up our table. So we have a stagnant table that we put blow pops and like giveaways on, which y'all, we went through eight boxes of blow pops.

Oh, it's not that.

No, it's not, it's about $50. I have to get them at Sam's Club. That's the key.

Yes, and I think I doubled it this year. I think maybe I did six last year and I did eight this year. Um, yeah.

We had about three to five hundred chapsticks gone. Uh, we had probably two to three hundred fans gone. I mean, like honestly, we could double or triple everything that we brought.

Yeah, I support it though. I think, I mean, I think it's good. Now, I will say it's expensive. There were a few people that were filling their bags with blow pops, which is a little excessive. You know, it might be a little excessive. Maybe just take one at a time, but yeah, uh, you know, hey, go crazy.

Yeah. So um, after we got our table set up, and you know, of course, like we we spoke to people and said hello, and you know, nothing is quick because everywhere you go, we we end up talking to everybody.

Yeah, I always feel bad for our friends because we literally usually can't take 10 steps without getting sucked into a conversation, which which you're not mad about, but if you're our just imagine being our friends for a second, yeah, and you're we're just trying to walk to the bathroom or something. Or go get lunch, yeah. And then you're you're having to wait on us to have it.

What's funny is Tara's worked for us for years and has been a friend of ours even before she worked for us for years, and she's never really been like almost like a sidekick. I don't know, that's not a good idea.

She's seen us at Secrets before, I think, uh, but not nobody has really seen us like at the big events like Bliss Cruz and Daphne and Mike. And not Daphne and Mike see it a lot, yeah.

But um, so it was funny because she was like, I get it now. She's like, I don't know how you do it, it's so much. I'm like, it is a lot. I mean, I'm we're very grateful for it, but it is definitely a lot.

I hate even talking about that because now it's gotten to the point where people will stop us and they'll be like, Oh, I'm sorry, it'd bother you. I know there's a no, no. I I don't want to put that message across. We want to.

But I think it's important to talk about it because like we do get stopped a lot and we are very appreciative of it.

And if we do seem like we're short in that conversation, it might be because our friends have to pee or we're going to fuck or you know, going to eat, or a hundred other things. Yeah.

So after we got dead setting our table up, we needed to go get STD tested. So this was kind of like a thing. We tried to go get tested here locally, and because of the 4th of July, the way the holiday fell, they were our local draw facility was open.

Like FedEx wasn't open one day, or they weren't delivering one day, and then the lab was not open one day, and then the late actual testing facility wasn't open one day.

Yeah, so the lady called me and said, Hey, come in Monday, and I was like, Okay, we'll be there. I show up Monday. I guess she forgot that they were closed, which it happens. Yeah, I say stuff like that all the time.

The only down part of it is we live an hour away from there.

So 40 minutes. So we drove all the way. So anyway, it was we hadn't been tested, and so obviously testing the day of the event is not ideal. But the good thing is I know my status, like we had our results the next day. So um, about seven miles from the actual Astor, Naughty New Orleans. And we got tested like last month, so it wasn't like it was it was more of like peace of mind than like anything. So um, so we went and we were tested and we did all of that, and then we came back, and it was kind of time for the party to get started. So we went and had pizza for lunch, like our typical, you know, naughty food.

Yeah, naughty New Orleans, we are definitely an eat on the go type people. And the nice thing about um Bourbon Street is they do have these like pizza and daiquiri places all up and down, and chicken. Yeah, I felt like there's more chicken places this time than I remember in the past.

Well, I think Tara ate a lot of chicken, and we usually do pizza.

And honestly, the chicken looked better than the pizza.

Yeah, it is sometimes, yeah. So uh, so we went and got our food, and then the first party that we always go to every naughty is the drinkery, and it is hosted by the accidental swingers, which is another podcast. Yeah, another podcast. They're great people, great party.

It's kind of like they host events too. I think it's swinky life or something.

Um they merge like swingers versus like kinky, like like BDSM.

They are like BDSM, they're more heavy into that than we are.

And they have found a way to like their brand is kind of merging the two, which I love because there's a lot of people in the lifestyle that are and they are a poly quad. Yes.

Uh, one of the few successful poly quads I think we've seen, at least around you know in our friend groups. Yeah, yeah.

So we started out their party. You know, I had real good intentions going into this party of being like a good girl? Not even like that. I was bad. I just, you know, y'all know I'm on a GLP one, I can't drink a whole lot. So, you know, I was like going like my I'm gonna take it easy. You know, I'm I'm not a big day drinker anyway. Like, I'm a one-to-two drink. If I go over that, I'm struggling to make it to the night party. So like I just didn't think anything of it. That is not what happened.

We both got trashed, and you never get trashed.

Well, the problem is, uh, well, I think one, you know, we we have been going through some shit lately. Let's just put that out there, right? In our personal lives, even in a little bit in, you know, like we've talked about this burnout podcast and stuff like that. So even a bit in a little bit of our professional lives, we've been, you know, struggling a little bit. And so I think I came into Naughty, New Orleans, we had very much cut back on our schedule of like professional things that we had to do. Um, so I was ready to kind of you know blow off some steam and I think have a good time.

And I think I I entered that even that first party with that mentality of like Well, Wednesday was the only day that we had no work too, which I didn't even think about it until later in the day. But if we were gonna like blow it up out of the water, Wednesday was the best way to do it. Also, if you know anything about Big Sexy, who is who is somebody that's been around our events, they don't come to a lot. We've known him and his wife since before the podcast started, you know, when Dan was stationed.

If you've been the Naughty New Orleans, you know who they are.

Yeah. Um, we met them when Dan was stationed in South Carolina. We went to a party um and and and we met them, and they he ha has a way of bringing the party, and he has a way of like getting everybody drunk, getting everybody drunk. And so, you know, he's it honestly, as soon as we walked in, it was like started with the fireball shots. And so I took one, but I sifted it, like almost like it was my drink, you know? And but before I knew it, I have no idea how many shots I had taken.

And you made out with half the bar.

I think so, yeah.

And like not only half the bar, but like people that we have professional relationships with.

I don't remember what poor part of the people. People would come up and be like, Dan, how are you? And he was like, I'm so and he was just like so loving. I mean, like everybody seemed to love it. I mean, like it was well received from everybody.

I was toasted, yeah. You were toasted, but in a happy, I mean, I was very happy, yeah.

So at some point they gave, I took a shot and I knew immediately I was gonna throw up. And I was like, I gotta get out the door. So yeah, you forgot about this.

So I'm trying to get out to the bathroom. And I'm okay, listen, I said this because I was talking to somebody. I'm like, I don't throw up that much in public. I usually know that I'm gonna throw up, but like this was like holding my mouth.

I feel like like right a lot of our recent event podcasts have parts of you throwing up in them now. Okay, so it's because of the GLP one though.

It is a GLP one. Also, I am just a thrower up. If my stomach at all hurts, but it's not that you're like wasted.

Like, and that's what I don't want people to think is that like you were just toasted, uncontrollably, like messy drunk. Because you're not.

And even this, I was not toasty, messy drunk. Was I feeling good? Yeah, had I had had like four shots, yes, but I would no way, you know, like I knew where I was, I knew my like I could consent. But I was toasty.

I mean, I was a little bit you're not you can, yeah, you can walk, you're not stumbling, you're not slurring your words, you're not, yeah.

Yeah, you just get easy upset stomach, and I think especially like Red Bull because of the fireball you beat. Or fireball, yeah.

I mean, I get I can throw up right in a car with no alcohol. Um, so anyway, I knew I was gonna throw. So I'm trying to get outside to get to the bathroom. Because I'm usually I usually make it. Right. You know, I'm not like one to just like throw up like in the middle of something. But then one of the accidental swinger swingers started trying to talk to me, and I'm like trying to get away, and I I couldn't.

In front of the event house, yeah. Outside at the first party, day one, first party. Not even outside, but you were like on the balcony, like the second story. Did it drip over the edge?

Babe, I don't know. It wasn't a lot, you know. It it wasn't like it was cleaned it up. She she got a worker that came and cleaned it up. It wasn't a lot because I like kept going. So like I it was just yeah, but it was a little.

Yeah, she was like, I'm not gonna tell anybody. And I was like, Well, I'll tell everybody. I was like, We host podcasts, like that's what we do. Maybe not everybody tells their dirty secrets like us.

Well, and I think that's what's the problem. I think more people need to be blatantly on, you know, like don't pretend like you're perfect.

In the yeah, I think it's one of the nights, I think it might be Friday night. Uh, they do a live band in there. Uh, and in the past, we've kind of bounced back and forth. Sometimes, like, it feels like we're bouncing back and forth all night and like not standing one place.

You know, we the first takeover we did there was just on the one side with that one little, I think what they call the conversation pool now. Uh, you know, and we barely sold out the resort. And and now it's like we put up a takeover there and it's sold out in five minutes. So we've really kind of grown up with them, so to speak. They've been excellent partners of ours and supporting everything that we do. Uh, they've kind of gave us all access behind the scenes at Secrets uh and and supported us in our podcast, and and we've really supported them. So I think we have a good like symbiotic relationship. And I I will say, uh, you know, I think secrets sometimes get us gets a bad rap. Like people like to tear them apart, just like people like to tear us apart. Uh, but now having formed a relationship with James uh and and Carmen and James Jr. and and kind of that whole team there, I truly believe like that they are in this industry for the right reasons. He's like, it's more you can you can get up and dance on the bar. It's got like a DJ booth, so you could, you know, you could play more of your guys' EDM type music. He's like, Do you guys want to switch to this venue? And me and Lacey were like, but it's still a cowboy bar, at least because it's called, I thought it was at least, because it was called Concrete Cowboy. I'm like, well, if it's still another country cowboy bar, and I'm like, our people have gotten so used to, I think I've are just now getting used to seeing us at the Boots Group Rodeo. I don't want to change venue, you know, because these venues kind of get their own um reputation.

Uh so when you you know we switch, you'd almost have to like start that reputation over. And I feel like we were just starting to really get where our parties are starting to kind of pack in now for naughty, where which like the first time we had like maybe 50 people show up, you know what I mean? So uh so I was hesitant to switch. But then after seeing that bar, I was like, God, this is a really good bulk.

It's like so the parties, if you've never been to Naughty, they're like 12 to 3 and then 3 to 6. So we went to like the three to six, basically. Yeah, maybe I don't know if they're doing it. On purpose, but it definitely seems like even the bars seem more, you know. I mean, like Bootstrap Rodeo is more of like uh you know, it's a country music and it's mixed up.

And you ended up, you went down there like at eight something, because I think it started at nine. And um, I stayed back and finished getting ready. Um so uh so basically but basically Alice in Wonderland. So you got ready and went on.

But if you are a DJ, you're gonna understand um the equipment they had at Naughty New Orleans. You could use um the CDJs, which are like professional, that's what music festivals DJs use, that's what professional club DJs use. It's like the top of the line professional DJ equipment. Uh, or you could use, they had other equipment there that you could use that was not that. Well, I had never played on the CDJs before, but I really, really wanted to. It's kind of like a thing to say that, you know, like, yeah, I've played on CDJs, like I've done that before. Uh, so I went down there because I was the opening set, I was you know the opening DJ, there was nobody on them yet. So I went down early so I could kind of check them out a little bit and see if I felt comfortable playing on them. Now I will say that's a risk, right? Playing a DJ set on equipment that you have never used before.

The uh Russell, the owner of Bliss, was like he came up while I was DJing and he like he likes to look at me, like gives me a you know, like gives me a little dap. And he's like, Why didn't you tell me you could DJ? And I was like, Oh, you never asked.

Like, he was like, Does he want to DJ at Bliss Cruise? And I was like, I'm sure he will if you ask him, because that's my husband. And then like DJ Sunshine was like, This is the best dance ever played, and he's using equipment that he has no idea what he's doing on. This is like amazing, but yeah, everybody was seeing your prices. You did very good, baby.

Yeah, it was a good, it was a good set. And I will say it felt really good to do it. And it I can remember at the last Electric Pleasures event, my sets, I was just so exhausted and tired because I had been working all day and running around like a chicken with my head cut off. So I almost felt like I was drained before I even got to do the music part, right? And so this time because we we had kind of a chill day and you know, I even got I practiced a little bit the set the night before and stuff like that. So I came into it in a pretty good head space. So the fact that it went off well uh made me feel good.

So once you got off, uh we uh went to find drinks. The alcohol, the so like we love Naughty, and that I think they did great. But the apparently the fire marshal gave them a lot of trouble this time, like where the bars could be. So like I feel like there was a lot of there was lines for elevators, bars. I think we would be um not doing the podcast justice if we didn't mention those things. But I do know that Naughty's like crew was working behind the scenes to try to fix it and make it right. But and I definitely think that after this like first night, I think like it got better, yeah. Especially the elevators. Yeah, like Friday.

So let's talk since you brought it up, let's talk a little bit about the elevators. So the reason the problem with the elevators is swingers do what swingers always do, and they fit as many possible people in the elevators as they can because nobody wants to wait for the next one, right? Yeah, so an elevator that's supposed to have 20 people in it ends up with like 60, 70 people. Their problem is when you do that.

Well, and the problem is these are old elevators, right? This this who knows how old the Aster building is? Who knows the last time they put elevators in it? So there's these like old, ancient hydraulic elevators, and so when you put all that weight in them, it overheats the elevator, and the elevator literally they shut them down. So on uh that first, or was it Thursday night? I think two of the elevators broke down.

So they went from having like six to like four, and then that just made it worse, you know. So um, I think the next night they actually put staff in the elevator lobby and like controlled how many people got on and off the elevators so that they wouldn't break. Uh so it is I get there's a bunch of people complaining about the elevators, and you're right, they are. It is annoying, yeah. But we are part of the problem when we overcrowd them and correct them.

And as well, there was like issue, like people were complaining about the stairs. There was an issue with the fire. I think something the the fire marshal had changed, and so they had previously had approval to do stuff, and so it just Yeah, and that's what kills me.

Like if it's in there's no easy fix, these guys they're playing, they're having to do everything to the code, to regulation, like in according with the fire marshals. And so if they've been told they can't use the fire exits for you know normal passage, there's nothing they can do about that, you know.

Yeah. So after you got done, DJ, and we tried to find a drink, and all the lines were long. So we ended up going to the top 40 room thinking that there's not as many people in there. We could probably get a drink faster, which we did. It ended up working. It and it was kind of smart, to be honest with you.

Bob, the owner of Naughty, does an industry tour every year, and it is one of our highlights that we do every year. Um, and it was gonna be at 12 or I think you had to line up like 1155. So that's what we had the first thing. The problem was is that if you've ever been to Naughty in New Orleans, you know that the beach is like the party.

And this year they asked Dan to MC it. And it was kind of something that we had add later. It wasn't like when we initially did our schedule, it wasn't something that we had planned for. Sorry, the the party at the beach started at three, but the owners of Splash and and and the the representative from Cassidy and all them, they wanted us there at two. So we and we would have had to Uber. It just didn't, it didn't and we were exhausted. We were exhausted, it just didn't make sense.

So when we got up, we're like, all right, we could go to this industry thing, but we're like one hour. We'd only really be able to be there for an hour. And honestly, the way those industry things go, it's sometimes it takes 30, 40 minutes just to get it organized and before anybody starts talking or anything. So it's like we might not, we might basically miss the whole thing, and then then we're gonna have to figure out how to get back to our room to get because we had games and stuff for the beach party, and then then back to the beach. Like, so we're like, we're just gonna have to let's just skip it this year.

Yeah, so we skipped it, which was a hard decision, but honestly, probably sorry, Bob. Sorry, but it was really the best decision for you and I. So we basically just like got up and got ready, checked our table, obviously, and then went to the beach and got it all, you know, you helped do sound check and they were setting everything up, and yeah, it was just get it was ready time to get ready.

It was go time, yeah. And so there was, you know, I'm not gonna lie, I had felt a little pressure going into this.

So, you know, if you've been around us, you've been to our parties before, you know, like at Secrets, I do a lot of the pool games and stuff like that. Um, even for Splash, you know, this is kind of how this came about, is I've been doing a lot of their pool games at a lot of the splash takeovers over the years, and so I'm a pretty decent pool game MC kind of guy. Um, but I'm not as much like what I would call like a club hype man kind of guy. You know what I mean? Like there are guys that are really good at that, like hype man at a club kind of, we know whatever MC hype guy. Um, I'm not that as much. I don't think I'm not as much great. Yeah, yeah. But I just I haven't done that a lot.

Well, it was also like a big honor for them to ask. Like even some because like we didn't like it wasn't like an announcement or anything, and some of our friends saw it on the schedule and they were like, wait, Dan is hosting the beach, and we're like, we know. So it was a it was a good honor, it was a really good honor. And I was very proud that you were asked to do that.

But what you do is you get uh, you know, three or four girls up on stage and you go, okay, this is a clothing optional, usually it's a pool party, but in this space party. This is a clothing optional party, but all these people have clothes on. I want you to go in the crowd and I want you to get as many bras and panties and bottoms and tops as you can, you know, and for everyone you get, you get a point, and whoever gets the most points is the winner, right? They're like, okay. They're like, all right, go. So these girls go into the crowd and they start, they get they're getting panties, they're getting bras, they got tops, they're getting people naked throughout the bar. They all come back, they start doing their thing. We pick a winner, and then you know, then we start throwing their clothes back out. And then immediately after that, the owner of uh Splash comes over to me. He goes, Uh, can you please make an announcement and tell everybody to put their bottoms back on? This is a topless only party. Whoops. It's like fuck.

Is it like the it's like a door, I guess a door counter. So like a counter. Like when people walk through and you're trying to count them, there's like a clicker that counts up.

I think when we came into this industry, we very quickly learned that like there's some bad blood here.

And you know, people were calling cops on each other for parties, and and there was some like kind of shady stuff going on, and it felt it didn't feel like we didn't always feel welcome and included, and we you know, we didn't always feel like you know, sometimes we felt like we were stepping on people's toes, and when you did that, people let you know, and uh so it was a little rough, I think, getting into the industry when we came into it, you know. Um, but I will say over this last year or so, a lot of those people that had bad blood are either moved on or um or at least burying the hatchet.

And uh it's been very nice to see.

So, like this, you know, Bliss Cruise almost a lot of the industry was on the last Bliss Cruise. This time at Naughty New Orleans, Bliss Cruise was there, Secrets was there, uh, you know, all these other clubs and takeovers and stuff were there. So I really feel like we're in a time um in this community where the community is really coming in together in ways that I haven't seen, you know, in the last five, six years. Uh, and it it feels good. And it seems really authentic as well that that everybody's kind of like, no, we just want to build each other up. We just want to come together, we want to fight for you know rights for our community and and make sure that you know we're kind of all in a level playing field, and and that feels really good. I I really enjoy. And I think this is a prime example of that is Mark walking, you know, MC Mark walking in while I'm MCing one of the biggest parties and playing his game and and kind of like supporting us, you know.

Yeah, no, I agree. Um, but yeah, the beach was it was awesome, it was non-stop, wild. It was a million degrees in there, it always is. They bring in fans and every I mean huge industrial fans, but it it was a great time. I had a lot of fun.
